American Festival for the Arts

AFA serves over 2,000 young musicians, offers over 40,000 hours of classroom instruction, and presents nearly 50 free performances throughout the greater Houston metro area. AFA’s work in our community is divided into three main program areas: the Summer Music Festival, Chamber Music Academy, and Engage AFA.

Orchestra and Chamber Music Workshop: June 13-27, 2026.

Dr. Asthana will be on faculty during week one of the workshop.

Echo Flute Studio

Launched with my colleague and friend Chelsea Tanner, Echo Flute Studio is an online community bringing together adult flutists who love the instrument and want to learn more in a non-competitive space.

EFS offers a rolling membership and 12-week cohorts for those interested in more 1:1 mentorship and exploration.

Floot Fire

Floot Fire hosts camps, classes, and competitions for students who love the flute! This is a great opportunity for flutists to work with world class faculty and perform with like-minded students who are dedicated and driven to be the best. All levels of students may participate–beginners through advanced players.
