FLUTE PERFORMANCE

Performance

My experience performing with professional orchestras, elite wind ensembles, intimate chamber groups, and as a recital soloist informs a multifaceted career as a flutist today. I maintain an active freelance presence in the Houston area and travel regularly for engagements with orchestras, chamber ensembles, and other performances.

My recital programming emphasizes audience engagement, featuring repertoire that spans a wide range of genres, traditions, and cultural perspectives. I am particularly drawn to curating interdisciplinary programs that intersect with visual art, dance, and poetry. In orchestral settings, I frequently perform on piccolo and alto flute in addition to flute.

FLUTE EDUCATION

Education

I bring over a decade of experience teaching private flute students across all levels, in addition to leading group classes, coaching chamber ensembles, and serving as a guest clinician.

My teaching places particular emphasis on the personal dimension of performance, with a focus on cultivating confidence, artistic voice, and a sense of ease on stage, so that your performance becomes not only polished, but genuinely meaningful.

Whether you are beginning your study of the flute, returning to it after time away, or an advanced musician seeking to refine your artistry, I would love to support you along your journey.

ARTS LEADERSHIP

Arts Leadership

As someone who thrives on the variety of a life in the arts, I often find myself behind the scenes: sending emails, managing spreadsheets, and shaping the structure that makes creative work possible. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to learn from a wide range of mentors and collaborators, and I’ve come to find administration deeply rewarding in its own right.

Whether I’m running a photography business, managing a nonprofit, planning grant-funded or sponsored events, coordinating competitions, or exploring what I like to call “light coding,” I enjoy bringing moving parts together and contributing to something larger than myself.
